Supraleitung Methode Japan®️ Violin Competition 2025

Summer International Violin Competition

 

Purpose:

This competition is held as part of a global music education initiative, with the aim of acquiring international-level skills.

 

 

Preliminary Round:

Video screening (YouTube - unlisted)

Application Period: May 20 (Tue) – June 20 (Fri), 2025

Preliminary Results Announcement: June 27 (Fri), 2025

 

Final Round:

Live performance screening

Date: August 7 (Thu), 2025

Venue: Piano Studio NOAH Kichijoji (Tokyo)

 

Jury: Yasuto Kimura, Shinn Hirayama, Kayoko Adachi, Sumine Hayashibara

 

Eligibility: Open to all nationalities

 

 

Age Categories:

A. 9 and under

B. 10–13

C. 14–17

D. 18–21

E. 22–25

F. 26–35

G. 36 and above

 

 

Repertoire:

Preliminary Round: Free-choice piece, up to 7 minutes (all categories)

Final Round: Free-choice piece, up to 8 minutes (all categories)

Note:

•Same piece cannot be used for both rounds

•Cuts of introductions/interludes are allowed

•Multiple pieces allowed

•C, D: ¥18,000

Participation Rules:

•All submitted media belongs to the organizer

•Participants must apply for copyright-protected works if used

•Submit a YouTube video link (set to “unlisted”)

•Slight time overruns are accepted, but priority is given to those within the time limit

•Submitted videos must be recorded within the past year

•Apply via the formrun system

•Re-application is not allowed

•Incomplete applications will not be considered

•Time slots for the final round will be announced in mid-July

•Time requests for performance slots are not accepted

•Comments will be provided only to final round participants (may take 1–2 months)

•Overseas applicants requiring a visa must apply on their own responsibility

•Commercial performances (with payment involved) are not allowed without organizer’s permission; violation will result in disqualification

•Interpretation services available upon request (participant’s expense)

•Accompanist arrangement available upon request (participant’s expense)

•No refunds will be issued after application, regardless of personal reasons or visa denials

•In the event of force majeure (natural disasters, war, epidemics, etc.), the final round may be cancelled

 

 

Regarding Judging and Results:

•Only top performers who meet the competition’s standards and follow its rules will be awarded prize money

•Prize money will be distributed two months after the results announcement

•No objections to the results will be accepted

•Any false claims or slander on social media will result in disqualification and legal measures

 

 

Rule Changes:

•Jury members may change

•Rules may be modified depending on social conditions; changes will be announced on the website

 

 

Expenses: All expenses must be covered by participants.

 

Accommodation & Flights:

Participants are responsible for their own arrangements. Organizer support is available with additional fees.

 

Insurance:

The organizer bears no responsibility for illness, injury, or accidents during the competition. Participants are advised to purchase their own insurance if needed.
