【Purpose】

The aim of this competition is to promote global music education and discover young talents, while fostering expressive abilities based on flexible bodily movements. The goal is to maximize the potential of each participant.

Dior Violin 

An award-winning violinist and violist, Dior won the 2017 Golden Classical Music Award International Competition, performing at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York, where she received a Special Certificate for Outstanding Performance.

Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, she began studying violin at age 6 and gave her first public performance at age 9. She has won numerous top prizes in major national competitions, including first prize in viola competitions in Uzbekistan.

he performs internationally across the United States, Europe, and Asia, appearing as a soloist and chamber musician in Germany, South Korea, Macao, Hong Kong, Norway, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore. Dior is also highly regarded as a juror, serving on international competitions including the Basel International Online Music Competition and the Singapore International Violin & Piano Competition, as well as competitions in Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, and Japan.

he holds a Bachelor’s degree from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, and currently serves as Head of the Violin Department at Asia Music School, focusing on technical mastery and rich musical expression in his teaching.

Mauro Iurato – Violin

An Italian violinist and educator, Mauro Iurato graduated with top honors from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin and studied under F. Gulli, C. Romano, and S. Accardo. He further trained with Prof. M. Frischenschlager at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, developing a performance and teaching philosophy grounded in the essence and spirit of music.

He taught in Japan as Associate Professor at Tokushima Bunri University (2003–2009), served as concertmaster of Ensemble Kobe (2005–2017), and appeared as guest concertmaster with major Japanese orchestras including Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra and Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.

Internationally recognized as an educator, he has been invited to masterclasses worldwide, including the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg. In 2010, he founded Harmonia Kobe Music School, mentoring students who have won prizes in major competitions. He has received numerous teaching awards, the Kobe Arts and Culture Encouragement Award (2019), the Kobe City Cultural Award (2022), and was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Knight, 2023).

He currently teaches at Soai University, Faculty of Music, and Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya High School of Music.

Shen Ting – Violin

A talented young violinist, Shen Ting is a string specialist recognized by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She won the top prize at the Aspen Music Festival in the United States and earned a Doctor of Performance (highest distinction) from the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg, Germany.

She studied under Professors Yu Lina and He Xian, and, supported by the German government, further trained with Prof. Christoph Sickert and Prof. Andreas Reihes, former concertmaster of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Active as a chamber musician, she is a member of the Time Ensemble and a founder of the Shen Ting String Quartet, promoting contemporary Chinese music. She has premiered works such as Xiao Youmei’s String Quartet No.1, Zhou Wenzhong’s “Flowing Spring”, Shen Ye’s chamber works, and innovative pieces combining Kunqu opera with string music.

Shen Ting also released the contemporary chamber music album “No Question of East or West”. She currently serves as a violin lecturer at Tongji University, School of Music.

No restrictions on nationality or educational background.

 

【Competition Categories】

•A: 7–9 years old

•B: 10–12 years old

•C: 13–15 years old

•D: 16–18 years old

•E: 19–25 years old

•F: 26 years and older

 

【Performance Guidelines】

 

Preliminary & Final Rounds Free Choice of Pieces

•Category A: 4 minutes or less

•Category B: 6 minutes or less

•Category C: 8 minutes or less

•Category D: 10 minutes or less

•Categories E & F: 12 minutes or less

•Performances must be memorized.

•The same piece may be performed in both the Preliminary and Final rounds.

•Multiple pieces may be performed.

 

*Overseas entrants may also apply for the Final round via video audition (YouTube Private Link).

*Participants residing in Japan may also choose to apply for the Final round via video audition (YouTube Private Link).

*The Final Round (live performance) may be cut off after approximately 10 minutes depending on the number of participants, but this will not affect the evaluation.

 

【Entry Fees】

 

Preliminary Round

•All categories: 15,000 JPY (including tax)

 

Final Round

•Categories A, B, C: 22,000 JPY (including tax)

•Categories D, E, F: 24,000 JPY (including tax)

 

Accompanist Arrangement

•From 16,000 JPY (including tax), negotiable

•Includes rehearsal on the day before or on the day of the event, studio fees, and performance fees.

【Competition Regulations】

•All media rights related to the competition belong to the organizing company.

•If using copyrighted music in the preliminary video, applicants must obtain the necessary permissions.

•The preliminary video must be uploaded to YouTube with a private link submitted.

•Performance time can slightly exceed the limit; however, the performance will be evaluated based on the time limit.

•The preliminary video must be recorded within one year of submission.

•Please complete the registration via the Formrun system.

•Incomplete applications will not be considered for evaluation.

•The timetable for Final Round participants will be notified in early September.

•Participants cannot specify their performance time in the Final Round.

•The Final Round will be closed to the public.

•Feedback from the judges will be provided only for the Final Round.

•Participants who require a visa should apply independently.

•If an invitation letter is needed, please contact the competition office in advance.

•Translation services will be at the participant’s expense.

•Entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

•In cases of force majeure (such as natural disasters, war, civil unrest, pandemic, etc.), the Final Round will be converted to an online audition.

 

【Evaluation Results】

•Awards will be given to the top winners who meet the criteria for receiving a prize.

•Prize money will be transferred via wire within two months after the results are announced.

•No objections or inquiries will be accepted regarding the evaluation results.

•In cases of defamation or false SNS postings, prizes will be revoked and appropriate actions will be taken.

 

【Changes to the Regulations】

•The jury members may change depending on global circumstances.

•Any changes to the regulations will be promptly announced on the official website.

 

【Expenses】

•All expenses related to participation are the responsibility of the participants.

•Participants must arrange their own hotels and flights.

•If the competition office is asked to arrange accommodation or transportation, additional fees will apply.

 

【Insurance】

•The competition organizers are not responsible for any illness, injury, or damage (including damage to equipment) during the competition.

•Participants are required to obtain their own insurance if needed.

From Haneda Airport, the venue is 40 minutes by bus or train.

•Take the bus from Haneda Airport to “Kamata” Station, then transfer to the Tokyu Tamagawa Line to “Tamagawa” Station.

•From “Tamagawa” Station, transfer to the Tokyu Toyoko Line and get off at “Denenchofu.”

•By bus: 1-minute walk from Denenchofu Tokyu Bus Terminal (routes En01, En02, Shibu11).
