Regulations
* All repertoire must be performed in the original language. Exceptions may be made for traditionally accepted languages.
* Piano accompaniment is required for all categories (exceptions: unaccompanied works).
* Art songs may be transposed.
* Instrumental works adapted for voice are permitted (e.g., Der Hirt auf dem Felsen by Schubert).
* Long introductions or interludes may be partially cut.
* All repertoire must be performed using classical vocal technique.
* Musical theatre entries must specify the work title and role name. Original or translated versions are acceptable.

Participants may freely select works that best demonstrate musicality and artistry from the above categories.
Unpublished works and original compositions are not permitted.

4. Professional Division: up to 10 minutes
5. Amateur Division: up to 6 minutes

Application Procedure
* Apply via the official website entry form (formrun system).
* Ensure emails from the formrun system and baselvocalconcours@gmail.com can be received.
* Attach proof of age (student ID, passport, etc.) and payment confirmation.
* Videos must be recorded after January 2025.
* Submit a newly recorded video with piano accompaniment.
* Recording location may be a studio, hall, practice room, or home.
* Orchestral accompaniment is not permitted.
* Perform from memory.
* Camera angle: front view showing upper body or full body.
* The pianist must also be visible.
* Submit a YouTube unlisted URL (Bilibili also accepted).
* Strictly observe time limits.
* Ensure proper audio balance.
* Recording quality will be part of the evaluation.
* Copyright clearance is the responsibility of the participant.
* Multiple video submissions are permitted.
* No video replacements after submission.
* Do not delete videos without permission.
* Entry order does not affect results.
* Deadline: 12:00 noon (Japan time).
* Apply well in advance.
* Incomplete applications may result in point deductions.

Participation Rules
* Media rights (internet, newspapers, magazines, etc.) belong to the competition.
* Applications must be submitted via the official form only.

* Feedback will be sent within approximately one month after the competition.
* The number of jury members and comments may vary.
* Grand Prix and Best Opera winners are expected to perform at the festival; refusal may result in forfeiture of prize money.
* Festival performers are selected by the organizer.
* Prize money will be transferred within two months.
* Prize money may be shared among multiple winners.
* Performances may be publicly released.
* Unauthorized video deletion results in disqualification.
* Deleting videos after receiving prizes may result in revocation and repayment.
* False information will result in disqualification.
* Personal data will be strictly managed.
* The competition may be canceled due to force majeure.
* Application deadlines may be extended depending on global conditions.
* Rules may be amended if necessary.
* Entry fees are non-refundable.
Misconduct Policy:
If any participant engages in defamation, harassment, abusive behavior, false declarations, or actions that disrupt the competition, the organizer reserves the right to revoke prizes, demand repayment, and impose future bans. These measures apply retroactively without limitation.
No appeals regarding judging or prize decisions will be accepted.
